Umphrey’s McGee Mashes Up Milwaukee

Rob Slater on November 4, 2013

Umphrey’s McGee delivered their sixth annual Halloween mashup show on Thursday night at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theatre. In addition to performing three mashups on Halloween night, the band dug deep to play two more the following nights, making this the most mashups the band has played over a Halloween run since 2011. You can check out videos of four of the five below, including the much-talked about “Blurred Lines” mashup as well as the second UM original mashup, “Push the Booth Deeper.” In addition to those two, we’ve also got great video of the Halloween-closing “Electric Avenue to Hell” jammed around the UM staple “The Triple Wide” as well as a rock and roll mash of “The Final Countdown” (featuring Joel Cummins on vox) and Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

“Papa Can Change a Blurred Stone” (“Papa Was a Rolling Stone (The Tempations) + “Blurred Lines” (Robin Thicke) + “Got To Give It Up” (Marvin Gaye) + “I Can Change” (LCD Soundsystem))

“Electric Avenue To Hell” (“Electric Avenue” (Eddy Grant) + “Highway to Hell” (AC/DC) + “The Triple Wide” (Umphrey’s McGee))

“The Final Teen Spirit” (“Smells Like Teen Spirit” (Nirvana) + “The Final Countdown” (Europe))

“Push the Booth Deeper” (Umphrey’s McGee original mashup of “Push the Pig,” “Deeper” and “Booth Love”))
