Umphrey’s McGee and Gene Ween Join Forces at Summer Camp (A Gallery)

May 23, 2015

Friday at Summer Camp saw headliners Umphrey’s McGee and moe. hit the stage in various capacities along with a slew of other bands like Trampled By Turtles, STS9 and many others. Umphrey’s put on quite possibly the most unique set of the weekend when they teamed up with Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween) for a special set comprised of Ween covers and a take on Billy Joel’s “The Stranger.” Dubbed “God Boner” after UM’s new alias given to them over the Atlanta New Year’s run, Gene Ween fronted the group as they powered through several Ween songs. Other highlights included Victor Wooten joining STS9 for a song and moe.’s jam-heavy late night set.
