Tom Morello Posts Photo from Recent Visit to Chris Cornell’s Grave

November 21, 2017

Chris Cornell has been gone for more than six months now and it still ranks as one of the most shocking deaths in the last two years, which have unfortunately been filled with a number of stunning deaths.

Cornell’s Audioslave bandmate Tom Morello posted a photo on his Instagram during a recent visit to Cornell’s grave site, which is covered in flowers, photos and other notes left by fans and friends. Cornell is buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery next to Johnny Ramone.

“Visited an old friend this morning. I’ll wait for you like a stone, buddy,” Morello said, referencing the classic Audioslave song. The Rage guitarist and Soundgarden frontman spent years together in Audioslave and recently reconnected for a benefit show in Seattle in 2014.

Morello used a photo from that show as a tribute to Cornell shortly after his passing. “It was a great honor to know you as a friend and as a bandmate,” Morello said at the time. “I am devastated and deeply saddened that you are gone dear friend but your unbridled rock power, delicate haunting melodies and the memory of your smile are with us forever.”
