Drug traffickers are continuing to find unique ways to smuggle drugs around the world and this one hits near and dear to a Ween fan’s heart. Last week, the Associated Press reported that German police found 847 pounds of cocaine in cases of bananas shipped from Ecuador. 

Yes, that would make this a real life Bananas & Blow situation. 

While there was no word on the street value of the bust, the cases were shipped to Hamburg and then taken by truck to Leverkusen (these are towns in Germany, I’m told). Police uncovered a transmitter in one of the cases, so someone in Ecuador received the news of their failed attempt. 

Anyway, long live “Bananas & Blow” the song, not the trafficking tactic.
