In late April, Theo Epstein recruited his good friend Eddie Vedder for the Hot Stove Cool Music Benefit show headlined by the Pearl Jam frontman, as he rolled through covers of Springsteen, Talking Heads and many others with a house band. 

As it turns out, Epstein is a bit of guitar buff himself and joined in with Vedder and the band for Pearl Jam’s “Better Man”towards the end of the show. Epstein might be a guitarist but a rock star he is not, as he tried a Vedder-patented dive off the drum riser to disastrous results.

Thankfully for Epstein and unfortunately for your favorite baseball team (assuming that team is not the Cubs), the architect of the World Series champions escaped unscathed.
