The New Dave Matthews Song is Now Called “Do You Remember”

Over the weekend we told you about a new song from Dave Matthews entitled “The Odds Are Against Us,” played originally at Farm Aid. Well, now that title has been changed across all platforms to “Do You Remember,” a much better song title if we’re being honest.

The title is interesting because, as DMB video guru ChesterCopperpot5 points out, the title harkens back to a brief vocal improv Matthews delivered before “Why I Am” at the band’s summer stop in Hartford in 2012. While there aren’t too many similarities between the two aside from the “do you remember” lyric.

While its been five years, Matthews has been known to revisit bits and pieces of previous lyrical ideas so reworking something from five years ago wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility. If true, the inclusion of “Do You Remember” on an upcoming DMB album would become all the more possible.

Both performances have been cut up together for you to piece together your own conclusions.
