The National Play “Peggy-O” and The Dessners Dish on ‘Day of the Dead’

May 24, 2016

CBS This Morning highlighted The National’s new Day of the Dead compilation on Saturday with an appearance from The National themselves to perform “Peggy-O,” the second tune they cover on the record to go along with “Morning Dew,” which they recently played on Late Show with Stephen Colbert

As a bonus, Bonnie “Prince” Billy also added his contribution, a stirring reading of “If I Had the World to Give.” In addition, CBS sat down with the Dessner brothers at the Brooklyn Bowl for a brief discussion on the record where they declined to say if there was a second volume coming. “I think we’ve done it,” both brothers agreed.
