The Band closed out 1971 with four shows at New York City’s Academy Of Music. Allen Toussaint provided new horn arrangements and Bob Dylan made a surprise guest appearance during the New Year’s Eve encore. While portions of these shows appeared on The Band’s classic 1972 double LP, Rock Of Ages, for the first time, all four of the concerts’ multitrack recordings will be made available.
