The last 48 hours have been a celebration of the wide-ranging influence and immense talent of the late Col. Bruce Hampton. Yesterday we covered his music and film accomplishments and today it feels appropriate to revisit that time the good Colonel tried his hand at hip-hop, appearing in the video for Run the Jewels’ “Blockbuster Night Part I” from their Run the Jewels 2 record. 

For his part, El-P took to Twitter following the news of Hampton’s passing to thank him for goofing around with them in what is otherwise a goofy video as El-P and Killer Mike play the worst paramedics on the planet, ultimately ignoring a choking Col. Bruce in an Atlanta diner.
