Spiritual Rez will bring their reggae funk dance experience back on the road starting this Thursday with a performance in Port Chester, NY. In anticipation of this Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre gig and the shows to follow, the group has dipped into the archives for an unreleased song which we premiere today (the group’s upcoming dates appear below the audio).

The group’s Toft Willingham (lead vocals/guitar) tells Relix, that “On a Mission” is “a heavy reggae rocker with hints of metal throughout. It’s about something all musicians face: the hustle. We recorded it at 9b Studio when we were tracking the Apocalypse Whenever record. It showcases our keyboardist Mohamed Araki and his ability to rock the synths. It also flexes Spiritual Rez’s heavy side which is an important part of who we are. I cowrote the song with our original guitarist Van Gordon Martin. His current projects include Dub Apocalypse and Organically Good Trio. It’s one of my favorites that we wrote together and I’m excited to finally put it out there for the people.”
