California-based  Saint Mesa (Danny McCook), first contemplated what would become his debut release while working his way through some medical complications that occupied him for some time. The EP came out this fall, and his first single, the carefully-crafted “Jungle,” soon received over a million plays on Spotify. Today we premiere a live acoustic version of the song from Lair Studios in Los Angeles, with Saint Mesa on piano alongside a horn section, backup singers, and a backing band.

“When we recorded this song at Lair Studios,” Saint Mesa tells Relix, “we recorded everything simultaneously and in one take with a full band. The song is about my personal journey through inexplicable health issues, and I really wanted to capture a more raw sound with this version to bring more attention towards the meaning of it.”
