The latest album from Portland’s Oregon’s steady, heavy quartet, Red Fang, is set for release this Friday (it is now available for pre-order). Ross Robinson (At The Drive In, The Cure, Slipknot) produced Only Ghosts, which finds the group continuing to explore a thick yet dynamic sound palette. Today we premiere “The Smell Of The Sound” and Red Fang bassist/singer Aaron Beam offers the following message:

Hello Relix readers!
Let me ask you, does sound have a smell? What if it were a body of the most nutrient rich water in the world, dark and sparkling, and full of life? This is a song about deep, binding emotions that live in a place underwater where our human concepts of sound and smell do not apply. It’s also a pretty good rock song with an epic ending that you will enjoy.
Thanks for listening!
Love,
Aaron Beam
