Matt Andersen’s seventh studio album is set for release on February 26th via True North Records. Commissioner Gordon (Santana, Amy Winehouse, Damien Marley, Joss Stone, Santana) produced Honest Man, the follow-up to his JUNO Award nominated Weightless.  With Honest Man Andersen continues to expand on his soulful blues palette. Today we premiere the title track from the forthcoming record, which is now available for pre-order.

Andersen tells Relix, “‘Honest Man’ is plea for people to avoid getting caught up in the circus of pounding fists and hollow promises, to search for the ones who are really out there to do the right thing and move forward, not backward. What got me thinking about this idea was an editorial cartoon of Trump and Sanders at a press conference. The cartoon clearly depicted that the press was much more interested in catching Trump’s ‘car accident’ speech—the kind you hate to see but can’t look away from—and ignoring Sanders who was trying to touch on the real issues.”
