See Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer’s Perfect Reaction to Trey Anastasio’s Broad City Shoutout

Last night in Delaware, Trey Anastasio continued his current solo acoustic tour with a show that featured a special shoutout to the creators of Comedy Central show Broad City, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, and the duo offered a quick response.

The nod came near the middle of Anastasio's set, when he paused before the Phish favorite "Cavern" to dedicate the tune to "two of the coolest women," referring to Jacobson and Glazer. Anastasio quickly qualified the statement, officially putting his wife, daughters and mother in the top "coolest" spots (and giving separate shoutouts to former First Lady Michelle Obama and actress/comedian Kristen Shaal of Flight of the Conchords and Bob's Burgers).

Jacobson, who hails from outside Philadelphia—not far from where last night's show took place—is an admitted jamband fan (read our interview with her here) and has included multiple musical references in Broad City, including nods to the Grateful Dead, Phish and even Anastasio himself, who's visage once appeared in Jacobson's character's mushroom-induced hallucination.

Jacobson and Glazer's response, posted on their Instagram story, starts, appropriately, with Glazer saying, "We're literally freaking out," and moves on from there. Below, watch the duo's reaction video (captured by Scott Bernstein), along with a video of Anastasio's full show, courtesy of YouTube user noochnooch (the Broad City shoutout comes around 33:20).
