This NBA season, which thankfully kicks off later this month, will find the Sacramento Kings playing in a new arena dubbed the Golden 1 Center. That arena was recently christened by none other than Paul McCartney, who brought his “One on One” tour to California for a 38-song marathon. 

Not a bad way to celebrate the opening of an arena by having a member of the Beatles and all-around legend hit the stage. I’m sure everyone in the area was very excited that Sir Paul took time out of his busy schedule to….Oh, what’s that? Kings center DeMarcus Cousin doesn’t know who Paul McCartney is?

Now, DeMarcus is a bad, bad man on the basketball court so I’m not one to question him or his musical knowledge. But Paul McCartney? Not even as the guy Kanye West discovered? Okay, Boogie, do you know who Chuck Berry is?
