RIP Glenn Frey: Gov’t Mule Play “Take It Easy” at the Beacon to Honor the Late Eagle

January 18, 2017

Today marks one year to the day that famed member of the Eagles Glenn Frey passed away, just one of the many horrific deaths in early 2016 that got the year set on its torturous, nightmarish track.

Frey passed away at the age of 67 due to complications of rheumatoid arthritis, something he battled since 2000. Frey also suffered from acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia, both stemming from gastrointestinal tract surgery.

On New Year’s Eve, Gov’t Mule did their best to pay homage to Frey, as well as many of the other legendary musicians lost in 2016, with a rendition of one of his classics, “Take It Easy,” at the Beacon Theatre.
