Rhino is Reissuing LCD Soundsystem’s Albums and That’s News to James Murphy

June 13, 2017

Yesterday, Rhino Records announced that they would be reissuing four LCD Soundsystem albums on vinyl including their self-titled debut, 45:33, This is Happening and London Sessions. That news is not only new to the band’s fans but also the band themselves.

In a press release put out later in the day, the band noted that “despite being in print for years and readily available at DFA,” Rhino announced the reissues. They issued a collective statement saying: “LCD Soundsystem certainly aren’t announcing shit, as they had no idea that these were even coming out. Just buy the records from DFA, like you have been able to for years.”

The disgruntled press release continued by noting that Rhino’s press release described the band as “one of the freshest sounds on the London underground scene in the early 2000s” which “shows how seriously anyone should take it.”

So, uh, just buy the records at DFA and watch this awesome video of “Dance Yrself Clean” from the band’s first farewell show at Madison Square Garden.
