Relive Umphrey’s McGee’s 2016 Lockn’ Set Featuring Gene Ween Collaboration

August 24, 2017

Lockn’ Festival kicks off today with headlining sets from Phil Lesh and Bob Weir (celebrating Terrapin Station with the Terrapin Family Band), Widespread Panic, The Avett Brothers and many more, including now-festival veterans Umphrey’s McGee.

The Chicago sextet returns for another interlocking set with The String Cheese Incident on the festival’s opening day, as the two bands will alternate over the course of four hours. Last year, the band reprised their God Boner set with Gene Ween, another music festival creation as the two came together at Summer Camp. Freeman joined in for a cover of Billy Joel’s “The Stranger” late in the band’s set that preceded Ween’s marathon headlining show.

Watch the full set below. We’ll also be hosting an exclusive, free livestream of this weekend’s festivities throughout the weekend.
