One year ago today, Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti teamed up with the surviving core members of the Grateful Dead for a landmark celebration in honor of the band’s 50th anniversary.

The shows were events in and of themselves, they were part of the Dead legend before a note of music had been played–the announcement, the lineup, the ticketing controversy. When the dust settled Fare Thee Well went down as one of the grandest anniversary celebrations in quite some time. 

Looking back, the shows still seem surreal and as we hit the one year anniversary of the first show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, revisit some highlights as Anastasio, Hornsby, Chimenti, Weir, Lesh, Kreutzmann and Hart made their debut.
