Pro-Shot Video: moe.’s Al Schnier Joins Pigeons Playing Ping Pong for Extended “Poseidon” at Summer Camp 2018

July 11, 2018

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong continue to prove that their live show is not something to be missed this summer, and the Baltimore-based jam-funk outfit recruited a veteran of the scene, moe. guitarist Al Schnier, to help them drive that point home at Summer Camp Music Festival earlier this year.

Welcoming out Schnier for their own “Poseidon”—a bouncy tune that closes out PPPP’s 2017 album Pizazz—the band goes deep into some uplifting improvisation, trading solos with the moe. guitarist and enlivening the massive crowd (front-row guy at 14:46 gets it). The over-17-minute live cut, the first release of this year’s Summer Camp Sessions series, may just be a preview of what’s to come, when Pigeons play their first-ever show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre tomorrow, July 12, when they’ll be supporting moe. at the famed venue.
