It appears as if the connection between Trey Anastasio and the Seattle Seahawks extends far beyond a “Wilson” chant, as the guitarist attended Super Bowl XLVII last night in style, with some pretty great seats to the 43-8 beatdown by Seattle. Anastasio remarked recently that he believed Seattle would win the game, citing Wilson as one of his favorite players in the league. Russell played well, throwing two touchdowns in the rout. Although linebacker Malcolm Smith took home MVP honors with ten tackles and an interception returned for a touchdown that blew the game wide open.

If you thought Anastasio took in the big game in style, he was casually one-upped by rock power couple Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. The two enjoyed the game from Seahawks owner Paul Allen’s suite at MetLife Stadium, with Trucks getting significant airtime on the FOX broadcast as well. The connection may seem random to some, but Trucks appeared on Allen’s debut album Everywhere At Once released in 2013. Allen recorded the album with his band, The Underthinkers, which also featured appearances from David Hidalgo, Joe Walsh, Ivan Neville and many more. Check out the happy couple amongst the confetti, photographers and general chaos.
