Phish in Mexico: Get Ready for This Weekend’s Run by Reliving All Three Shows from 2016

January 13, 2017

Tonight, Phish return to Mexico for another three nights by the ocean as they begin their 2017 touring schedule. Last year, the group surprised by announcing a destination event of their very own, joining the likes of Gov’t Mule, Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket and others as hosting their very own retreats in the dead of winter.

Taking the stage just a few days after the passing of David Bowie, many wondered if and how the band would honor the Starman. Of course, on the opening night they closed the first set with the song named after Bowie himself (and little did we know the real tribute would come later in the year). Other highlights include a “Harry Hood” that saw half the audience splash around in the ocean and an appropriate cover debut of Zeppelin’s “The Ocean” to close out the weekend, bookending three strong nights of Phish.

Watch all three nights in full below as you prepare for yet another weekend in the sand.
