The members of Pearl Jam took the time to handpick some select tunes for an “Early Years of Grunge” playlist for Songza. While grunge will really never die (guitarist Stone Gossard never used that word anyway), the band put together some essential tracks for those looking to explore the origins of the genre or simply relive the days of acid-washed jeans and punk band t-shirts.

The band is currently off the road (and clearly bored if they’re curating grunge playlists) but you can take a look at the full tracklist below and listen to the stream in the link above. Of course, the band seemed to stick to the early-90s Northwest factions, incorporating Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Brad, Green River, Mother Love Bone, Temple of The Dog, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, among others.

Of their own originals, PJ went with the deep cut “Breath,” which is an interesting pick as the band mentioned in their Pearl Jam Twenty documentary that an early performance of that tune was responsible for bringing lead singer Eddie Vedder out of his shell, turning him into the powerhouse frontman he is today.
