Osiris Podcast Spotlight: Hot Buttered Rum’s Erik Yates, the Art of Making Dog Food with Cubensis and More

July 20, 2018

This week’s collection of episodes from the Osiris podcast network includes a remembrance of a beloved radio DJ,  how a pet’s health issues led to a new company and some new West Coast bluegrass. Happy listening!

—As a morning-show DJ on WNCW, Joe Kendrick made his first podcasts ten years ago, and produced hundreds of episodes of the talk show “What It Is.” Jeff Eason was a founding voice on the show, and one of its best. Southern Songs and Stories remembers the remarkable life of one who left us too soon.

—Cubensis guitarist and chef Nate LaPointe has a passion for making sure his family only eats the healthiest food–and that includes his dog, Zuri. Guitarcast‘s Andy Keathley learns how Nate solved his four-footed friend’s health issues and founded Zuri Foods, before the two howl a cover of “Hey Bulldog.”

—Multi-instrumentalist Erik Yates brings his voice to episode 120 of The Sound Podcast, performing a few tunes and talking about “Lonesome Panoramic,” the latest release by eclectic West Coast bluegrass outfit Hot Buttered Rum.
