My Morning Jacket Tear Through “Tropics” on ‘Colbert’

My Morning Jacket’s tour has landed in New York for their four-night residency at the Beacon Theatre and the band celebrated by appearing on Late Show with Stephen Colbert as the host’s run of impressive musical guests continued. Celebrating his 50th show, Colbert welcomed MMJ onto the stage for a performance of “Tropics (Erase Traces)” from their latest The Waterfall.
The group was augmented by a string quartet, who helped add to the psychedelic nature of the standout Waterfall track. My Morning Jacket kicks off a four-night Thanksgiving run at the Beacon Theatre in New York City tonight.
