My Morning Jacket Release Danny Clinch-Directed “Compound Fracture” Video

My Morning Jacket’s ascension to the top of the modern psychedelia mountain is nearly complete with their latest visual offering, the official video for “Compound Fracture,” one of the standouts from their stellar latest record The Waterfall. The video features plenty of sharp cuts, fades and other effects courtesy of famed photographer Danny Clinch, who directed the video. Clinch drew from the band’s recent stop at Red Rocks, which was broadcast via TourGigs and also directed by Clinch.

On the video, Clinch said, “After directing the filming of the band at Red Rocks for a live stream, we realized how cool it would be to cut a video from the time we spent there. My conversations with the band are always about how we can make the video strange, mysterious, and interesting. I chose my friend Gabriel Judet-Weinshel, a very adventurous editor/filmmaker to go for it and edit the video together. He definitely killed it and we’ve created a modern take on psychedelia, which suits My Morning Jacket perfectly.”
