MSNBC Cut a Video of Katy Tur and Jake Sherman’s Many On-Air Phish References

September 05, 2017

If you've watched MSNBC lately, you've probably seen their in-house spots promoting each show. A dimly lit boxing ring with Chris Matthews delivering a pre-written, cliche-filled reflection on politics today or Greta Van Susteren hanging in a bar because you see, they're just like us.

Well, there's a new entry among the bunch for resident Phish fan Katy Tur. While this one might not make it to air, the clip showcases Tur and Politico's Jake Sherman trading on-air references from songs like "Run Like an Antelope" and "My Friend, My Friend" between each other. Even funnier is when Tur lays one on an unsuspecting guest, who typically has no idea what they're talking about.

It's rare we laugh about politics these days but this is a fine reason to crack a smile.
