Moon Taxi headed west for a slot at The Ride Festival and had a special treat in store for their set as both Trevor Terndrup and Spencer Thomson broke out a pair of Jerry Garcia’s Travis Bean guitars for a cover of the Dead’s “Scarlet Begonias.”

The band took to Instagram to share the above picture of both guitarists with Garcia’s guitars. 

This isn’t the first time the Nashville rockers have used some of Garcia’s axes. In 2014, frontman Trevor Terndrup used Garcia’s Travis Bean TB500 #11 on a cover of “Scarlet” in Idaho. Umphrey’s McGee’s Jake Cinninger also used a similar model at the band’s Red Rocks show in 2014, playing it on the band’s own “End of the Road.”
