Metallica Talk Phish’s Baker’s Dozen Run During Pre-Show Rehearsal
Before their final Hardwired North American show in Edmonton, Metallica broadcast their pre-show rehearsal from the tuning room including some of their between song chatter that this time landed on the topic of Phish’s Baker’s Dozen.
Guitarist Kirk Hammett commented on a segment from the band’s previous show that got particularly jammy saying, “We were Phish for 30 seconds.” James Hetfield joked, “We took acid for a little bit.” Drummer Lars Ulrich then chimed in, asking if anyone heard about the Baker’s Dozen run without a repeat.
“That’s insane,” Hammett said of the feat. “That’d be a nightmare, wouldn’t it?” Hetfield said of Metallica’s attempt at it. “Residency, and you don’t get to play the same songs,” he laughed.
Watch below. The Phish talk begins around the 11:30 mark.
