Metallica took over Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a pair of performances including the new tune “Atlas, Rise!” from their latest Hardwired…to Self Destruct and the classic “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” 

The band also went up against their superfan Dave in Metallica trivia, complete with questions about the band’s history right up to where Kirk Hammett bought his first guitar. In the end, Metallica won, earning the right to Dave’s wallet (if Dave won, he was taking home a guitar signed by the entire band) but not before the band invited Dave to any show of his choice next year, as Lars Ulrich mentioned they’d be playing a whole bunch of shows in the U.S. in support of their new album.
