M. Ward Reunites with Monsters of Folk Bandmates Jim James and Conor Oberst

M. Ward, Conor Oberst and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James are three-fourths of Monsters of Folk, the folk rock supergroup that released just one album in 2009 before disappearing while each member returned to their respective projects. But last night might’ve just revealed a small light at the end of the tunnel.

Opening up for Brian Wilson on his Pet Sounds tour stop at the Hollywood Bowl, M. Ward welcomed out Oberst and James for a mini-Monsters of Folk reunion sans Oberst’s Bright Eyes bandmate Mike Mogis. Together, the ensemble rolled through Ward’s “To Save Me,” which Monsters of Folk played numerous times together as well as “Vincent O’Brien,” which falls into that same category. To close the show,  the band delivered Monsters of Folk’s “Whole Lotta Losin'” and forever ramped up those reunion rumors.

Watch it all below.
