Wilco’s set at Newport Folk Festival saw them reunite with longtime collaborator and former recording partner Billy Bragg for a touching closing number of “California Stars,” surely a nod to one of the festival’s forefathers Woody Guthrie.
Along with the reunion at the end, Wilco peppered in many of their finest compositions like “Via Chicago,” “Impossible Germany,” “I’m Always in Love,” “Heavy Metal Drummer” and many others. The set is now available to stream via NPR.
