Listen to Five More Cuts from the Massive ‘Day of the Dead’ Compilation

Rob Slater on April 27, 2016

The second round of Day of the Dead previews are now available via YouTube as five cuts from the 59-track compilation have made it to the internet. Below, you’ll be able to sample some diverse takes including Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy & Friends’ “Ruben & Cherise” as well as My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James teaming with a group of friends for “Candyman.”

Charles Bradley and the Menehan Street Band offer up possibly the most unexpected and flavorful take on any track previewed yet, with a psychedelic reading of “Cumberland Blues.” Also included is Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s funky “Shakedown Street” and a tender “To Lay Me Down” with Perfume Genius and Sharon Van Etten. Listen below.

Day of the Dead hits on May 20 and is available for pre-order here. Check out the full tracklist here.
