John Mayer Laughs at “Friends Don’t Let Friends Allow John Mayer to Join Their Band” Shirt

There’s something admirable about a musician who can joke on himself and John Mayer is admiring the latest lot shirt to be spotted on Dead & Company tour.
On his Instagram story, Mayer posted a photo of someone wearing a shirt that says “Friends Don’t Let Friends Allow John Mayer to Join Their Band,” surely referencing his new post as guitarist in the Grateful Dead offshoot that kicked off its latest summer tour this weekend.
“I’m dying,” Mayer wrote with a little emoji. At least he’s taking the jab in stride.
