Everyone seems to be digging on Ryan Adams’ new record these days and we can now add John Mayer to the list. But this Twitter exchanged led to a surprise for both guitarists. 

While Mayer was waxing poetic about Adams’ latest stellar effort Prisoner, calling it “melodic/harmonic gold” and praising Adams for “swimming in his sweet spot.” Mayer related the album to Def Leppard’s Hysteria and when Adams agreed, Rick Savage and company responded to the comparison, sending Mayer and Adams into full-fanboy mode.
