The beauty of Umphrey’s McGee’s soaring instrumental “Glory” is its a full-on guitar assault from Jake Cinninger, one of the most dynamic guitarists in the game today. Cinninger gets to drive the car as fast and crazy as he wants for a few minutes as the band follows him to a typically ridiculous peak.
For the crowd, this moment is equally as satisfying. But what does “Glory” look like with no one around? And is it as jaw-dropping?
As it turns out, yes it is.
A soundcheck video posted shows Cinninger alone on stage tooling around with the song as his bandmates file in and yes, they’re just as blown away as you are in the audience.
