It’s Phish’s Jimmie Night!

July 30, 2017

So far most of the flavors Phish have presented during their Baker’s Dozen run have offered a fixed amount of options, often stemming from Phish’s vast collection of covers. But tonight offers a far wider realm of possibilities as Phish presents “Jimmies” night at The Garden.

Of course, there’s the obvious: Jimi Hendrix (Phish has covered “Fire,” “Bold As Love” and “Izabella” over the years) and, of course, Jimmy, the famed character at the center of the “Harpua” narrative. Maybe a combination of the two?

Then there’s the smattering of “Jim” related songs like “Runaway Jim,” Jimmy Dale Gilmore’s “My Mind’s Got a Mind of Its Own,” Jimmy Smith’s “Back at the Chicken Shack.” You already have a hell of a show right there.

There’s much reservation that the band’s Jam-Filled throwdown won’t be topped, but if anything can, it’s a night that could possibly include a massive “Harpua” with a Jimi Hendrix flare.
