March is for two things: College basketball and the Allman Brothers Band at the Beacon Theatre. We’ll be getting one of those this year, but the other is a void in our lives at the moment. The memories are thankfully preserved forever and like a fine wine, just keep on getting better. 

Today, let’s travel back to 2009 when the newly reunited members of Phish, Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell, hit the stage with the Brothers for an extended section that included “I Know You Rider” and a blazing “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.” At least for Anastasio’s part, he would recreate the sit-in with the Allmans later on, with collaborations at Wanee in 2014.
