In Honor of Arcade Fire’s 10th Anniversary of ‘Neon Bible’ Watch the Band Perform in an Elevator

March 3, 2017

I’ve always thought of Arcade Fire as the people’s band, as in, anyone could find a role in the group. They’ve always been a large ensemble, so when La Blogotecque suggested the group squeeze into a Paris elevator as they promoted their 2007 record Neon Bible, which will turn 10 this weekend, one had to wonder just how miserable an experience that would be.

Even more impressive than the performance, which includes the lead track from Neon Bible, is the band’s ability to find any room to breathe in the tiny elevator.

In honor of the record’s tenth anniversary, revisit this truly unique performance.
