I Could Watch This Video of Phish’s MSG Rain Test All Day Long

Rob Slater on January 3, 2017

By now you’ve surely seen Phish’s New Year’s gag in full, pro-shot glory as the band made it rain cats and dogs inside Madison Square Garden, bringing the Big Boat track “Petrichor” to life with the help of performers and fake rain falling from the ceiling of the venue.

So just how did they make it look like it was raining inside of Madison Square Garden? Well, the “Rain Test” video from David Gallo Design will tell you all you need to know. It’s something that could play on a loop all day and I wouldn’t get tired of listening to those little quinoa-like bubbles bouncing all over the stage.

Watch below and also check out a clip from the rehearsal prior to the show.
