A very thorough clock operator at Phish HQ clocked last night’s completely absurd and unexpected “Lawn Boy” at 29:59 with the reprise coming in at another 1:53, totaling 31:52, a positively colossal take on the historically very short Page McConnell serenade. 

Since it’s early, let’s have some fun with numbers and figure out just how many previous versions of “Lawn Boy” you could fit into last night’s version? The answer is nine, dating all the way back to August 14, 2015. The last nine “Lawn Boy”‘s total 29:52 with the tenth taking it over the threshold, adding another three minutes. That’s more than a year’s worth of “Lawn Boy” packed into 30+ minutes of jamming delivered in just one night. A truly unimaginable moment in Phish’s history.
