Gregg Allman and Father John Misty Have Very Different Reactions to Their Songs Appearing on ‘The Voice’

November 15, 2016

NBC’s singing competition The Voice is still a thing apparently and on this season they’re down to their top-12 as the contestants offered up snippets of songs for the judges.

On Team Adam Levine, it was Brendan Fletcher who tore into the Allman Brothers’ “Whipping Post” for the judges and then Aaron Gibson’s version of Father John Misty’s classic “Hollywood Forever Cemetery.” Both were spirited versions of the songs and certainly something you don’t see on The Voice all the time, and two that prompted very….different reactions from the original artists.

Watch both versions and the subsequent reaction below.
