Gary Clark Jr. and William Bell’s Performance Might Be the Grammys Best Moment

Last night’s Grammys were a big, bland scoop of old vanilla ice cream for the most part. Metallica was watered down by Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars’ Prince tribute felt uninspired and Adele won everything in her sight on the way to a clean sweep of the award show.

Maybe the broadcast’s brightest spot came during a brief interlude performance from Gary Clark Jr. and William Bell, who won earlier in the night for Best Americana Album. It lasted all of 120 seconds but contained the most soul and honesty of any note of music played throughout the four-hour broadcast as the two collaborated on Bell’s “Born Under a Bad Sign.”
