Galactic Duo Produce Gravy’s _Get Busy Living_ (Album Sampler)

November 18, 2016

Galactic’s Robert Mercurio describes the sound of Gravy’s forthcoming album Get Busy Living, as “a bit of neo soul mixed with some indie rock smothered in a whole bunch of New Orleans funk.” Mercurio produced the album with his Galactic bandmate Ben Ellman, who hails the group for their ability to blend various genres styles into their own recognizable sound.

Get Busy Living will be released on December 9 and today we share three songs from the forthcoming record. Guitarist Stephen Kelly tells Relix, “With the album, Get Busy Living, we wanted to see if we could create something that sounded like a cross between D’Angelo and Radiohead, with a little bit of New Orleans thrown in for good measure…” The group, which also features Chris Dibenedetto (keys) Marcus Burrell (bass) and Scott Graves (drums) will celebrate the record with a hometown performance on December 9 at New Orleans’ Gasa Gasa.
