Foo Fighters Post…..Concise “Making Of” Video for New Album

September 6, 2017

Foo Fighters’ Concrete and Gold arrives on September 15 and what better way to get everyone excited for the album than a good ol’ behind the scenes video documenting the recording process? Except, that’s not quite what we have here, but it’ll have to do.

In a rather tongue-in-cheek interpretation of “making of,” this very brief retelling of the band’s last two years starts with Dave Grohl’s infamous tumble that led to a broken leg and a throne-heavy Sonic Highways tour and continues to present day, teaming up with mega-pop producer Greg Kurstin and welcoming a number of special guests including Paul McCartney and, as we found out today, Justin Timberlake.

Slightly more expansive than the below video was the band’s interview with Rolling Stone, where they recalled recruiting Timberlake after some whiskey drinking in the parking lot. “We’d drink whiskey in the parking lot,” Grohl said of his interaction with Timberlake. “Then the night before his last day, he says, ‘Can I sing on your record? I don’t want to push it, but – I just want to be able to tell my friends.’”
