As the first weekend of Jazz Fest came to a close this weekend, several bands took to the stage around New Orleans to seek shelter from the bad weather. At the Howlin’ Wolf, Dead Feat took place, an all-star show featuring Anders Osborne and Billy Iuso teaming up with Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann and Little Feat guitarists Fred Tackett and Paul Barrere to play songs from the Dead, Feat and Osborne catalogs. Meanwhile, the Republic hosted a James Brown Dance Party featuring the likes of Jennifer Hartswick, James Casey, Nigel Hall, Corey Henry and more while Bonerama hit the stage at d.b.a. to play into the night.
