Chris Robinson: “I don’t like my brother, I don’t get along with him, I don’t want to be in a room with him”

Chris Robinson appeared on The Howard Stern Show for an interview with the host that spanned a wide variety of topics including his thoughts on John Mayer’s version of the Grateful Dead and of course his relationship with his brother.

Robinson didn’t hold anything back as he plainly stated that he and brother Rich don’t have a relationship these days. When asked if he would appear alongside the Black Crowes at a possible Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Robinson said, “Let’s get this straight–I don’t like my brother, I don’t get along with him, I don’t want to be in a room with him and I don’t want to play music with those people in that band.”

While he clarified that he doesn’t “hate” anyone, Robinson noted that “Jerry Garcia didn’t go, so I’m not going,” referring to the Hall.  When asked if he would get up to play at the Rock Hall, Robinson’s wife chimed in, “Only if I make him.”

Robinson also had a particularly funny story about meeting Gregg Allman for the first time, as introduced by Warren Haynes. While preparing for their Unplugged set, Allman walked by the Robinson brothers after an introduction from Haynes and simply stated, “Who gives a shit?”
