Beck Pays Tribute to Prince with Cover of “Raspberry Beret”

Beck headlined Memphis, TN’s Beale Street Music Festival over the weekend and took some time to pay tribute to Prince, an artist that he says he “grew up on.” Towards the end of his set, Beck worked in a folksy cover of “Raspberry Beret.”
“We want to sing a song for one of the artists that we truly, truly love,” Beck said before the tune. “We’re still in shock that he’s gone. This is for the Purple One.” Beck joked that while he didn’t have a raspberry beret, he did have a pink jacket on in honor of Prince.
