Another Day, Another Lawsuit Against Fyre Festival

May 17, 2017

The lawsuits are mounting on the Fyre Festival team and this time the ticketing startup Tablelist is joining the lawsuit parade as they filed a $3.5 million suit to refund money to its customers who purchased tickets to Fyre through their service.

Billboard reports that Tablelist is accusing the Fyre organizers of conducting a “fraudulent, highly orchestrated scheme” that left hundreds of people stranded in the Bahamas for several days. Tablelist also notes that the event was “falsely marketed as an ‘exclusive, luxury’ event” which coerced the ticketing company to align themselves with Fyre’s Billy McFarland and Ja Rule.

Even more damning for Fyre, Tablelist notes that while the festival claimed to refund every ticket buyer in full, festival organizers never “remitted a penny to Tablelist to pass along to consumers.”

This all comes on the heels of a leaked tape from a Fyre conference call where McFarland breaks the news to his staff that they will not be paying them anymore. The first hearing of their many lawsuits reportedly begins tomorrow in a New York court.
