Steelism, the Nashville-based instrumental duo led by guitarist Jeremy Fetzer and pedal steel player Spencer Cullum will release their second album on June 23. The group enlisted Jeremy Ferguson (Lambchop, Tristen, Andrew Combs,) to co-produce ism with them, which finds Steelism drawing in guest vocalists for a few tunes. Jessie Baylin Ruby Amanfu, Tristen and Combs all make appearances on the record, which we premiere today and is now available for pre-order.

The band tells Relix, “If our last full-length was in black & white, we wanted ism to be in full-blown color. We knew we wanted to have the addition of vocalists for this record, while attempting to fully integrate them into our instrumental Steelism aesthetic. We wanted the the vocals to become another branch of our steel and guitar and flow through the record like a film score. We are still an instrumental band, as the voice is after all just another instrument.”
